Friday morning, I had literature class as usual, and was rather stupid. I had to hang around until 1:30 for Dasha's instructional meeting on St. Petersburg. I ate in the stolovaya, then went again to sit with Kelly, McKenna, and Abby. On the way back to the GRINT building, we saw a fire. Someone's cigarette had set the dry lawn ablaze. It was interesting. No one seemed nearly alarmed enough, least of all myself.

At the meeting we met Dr. Routchkine, who is a very pale man with large, red eyes and flabby lips. He seemed very nervous, but good-natured.

Afterwards, I went home. I had to wait a long time for a bus. I took a shower and shaved my legs, packed, and read for a little. I decided to leave my umbrella and jacket at home for the sake of light packing. At the grocery store, I bought some snack food, then boarded the bus in a light rain for the metro, which I took to Okhotny Ryad. I spent two hours there, typing up my journal, which I finished. I did not get to type a letter to Mom, though; I still need to do that. I miss my keyboard; on these, I make all sorts of typos.

McKenna, Abby, and Kelly were there, too. McKenna wanted to finish up a letter, so we other three went to McDonald's, which is quick and cheap and favored by Kelly. Then we proceeded to the train station. The train was late, so we stood about for a long time with poor Dasha.

Finally it came, and we board3ed. I was in the same car as Megan, but we weren't in the same compartment...

I haven't the heart or the energy to on just now; I'll resume tomorrow.
